The Adult Nutrition Support Clinic at Strong Memorial Hospital offers expert, compassionate care for adults who need advanced nutrition support due to digestive disorders, surgery, or other complex medical conditions.

We specialize in both parenteral nutrition (PN)—nutrition delivered through an IV—and enteral nutrition (EN), which uses feeding tubes. Our experienced team of nurse practitioners and registered dietitians works closely with patients to create personalized nutrition plans designed to meet individual health needs.

What to Expect from the Adult Nutrition Support Clinic

Our clinic provides:

Comprehensive nutrition assessments and ongoing management for patients on home PN and/or EN, including coordination of formulas, supplies, and lab monitoring.
Expert care for patients with Short Bowel Syndrome, including support for home PN and IV fluids, and evaluation for teduglutide (Gattex®) therapy.
Patient education before and after feeding tube placement to ensure safety and confidence.
Feeding tube management, including placement, exchange, and removal of G-tubes, J-tubes, GJ-tubes, and nasally inserted tubes. Low-profile devices are available when appropriate.
Group home visits for patients needing tube management in the comfort of their homes.
Pre-surgical nutrition optimization to help reduce complications and improve outcomes.
