The Adult Nutrition Support Clinic at Strong Memorial Hospital provides services for adult patients who need parenteral nutrition (PN) and enteral nutrition (EN) support.
Provided by experienced nurse practitioners and registered dietitians, the Adult Nutrition Support Clinic offers:
- Nutrition assessments and ongoing nutrition management for patients receiving home PN and/or EN within the UR Medicine system, by referral. Assessments may be in person or as a telemedicine visit.
- Orders for PN and EN formulas, associated supplies, and nutrition-related lab work.

Measurement and placement of low profile (button) G and J tubes is included. Does not include exchanges of transgastric gastrojejunal (GJ) or transgastric jejunal (J) tubes, these need to be replaced with fluoroscopic or endoscopic guidance.
- Patient education pre or post placement, on the type, care and troubleshooting of enteral access devices.
- Removal of G tube, J tube, GJ tube and nasally inserted FT.
