Overview
The Adult Nutrition Support Clinic at Strong Memorial Hospital provides services for adult patients who need parenteral nutrition (PN) and enteral nutrition (EN) support.
Provided by experienced nurse practitioners and registered dietitians, the Adult Nutrition Support Clinic offers:
- Nutrition assessments and management for patients receiving home PN and/or EN within the UR Medicine system. This includes ongoing ordering of formulas, supplies and lab work.
- Evaluation and co-management of patients with Short Bowel Syndrome receiving home PN and/or IV fluids, for teduglutide (Gattex) therapy.
- Patient education on enteral access devices pre or post placement.
- Exchange, management, or removal of enteral access devices. This includes gastrostomy (G) tubes, Jejunostomy (J) tubes and nasally inserted feeding tubes (FT). We offer standard or low profile feeding tubes when the option is available.
