What Sets Us Apart?

UR Medicine Orthotics and Prosthetics is one of the region's oldest and most respected facilities of its kind. Our specialists perform hundreds of procedures and surgeries every year, so patient care is always in the hands of well-practiced experts. As part of the University of Rochester Medical Center, our physicians are exposed to more complex conditions and unusual complications than most physicians in the Rochester area.

The department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation were the earliest inpatient CARF (Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and Magnet-accredited rehabilitation units in upstate New York to be integrated directly with both a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our physicians work collaboratively to draw on a diverse set of skills and give patients comprehensive care.
