URMC / Coronavirus (COVID-19) / Visitation & Hours of Operation
Visitation & Hours of Operation

To keep everyone safe, medical masks must be worn in UR Medicine hospitals, on- and off-site Patient Service Centers, ambulatory clinics, clinical labs, and clinical research areas.
While New York State ended its mask mandate in clinical care facilities as of Feb. 13, 2023, state and federal regulations require health systems to develop their own policy related to masking and infection prevention. We are working to develop a new policy that balances patient and staff safety with convenience.
Hospital Visitation
UR Medicine visitation policies follow New York State Department of Health safety recommendations to limit visit length and the total number of visitors allowed per patient. We ask that you check our hospital policies before your visit.
Updated Operating Hours
Physician Offices or Other Outpatient Areas
Most outpatient offices will continue to accommodate up to one support person IF assistance is needed. Note that due to COVID’s impact on immunocompromised patients, Wilmot Cancer Center is currently not allowing any visitors or support persons (with very limited exceptions). Please check in with your physician office to learn of exact policy before your appointment.
