Visitation Suspended for Monroe County Hospitals

(Updated November 25, 2020)

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, UR Medicine hospitals have adjusted visitation policies based on local and state guidelines to help contain the virus and to protect patients, visitors and staff. In response to the recent surge of cases statewide, the New York State Department of Health has implemented a micro-cluster action plan to identify COVID hot spots and set guidelines for public gatherings and activities to slow the virus’s spread. Strong Memorial Hospital and Highland Hospital are in an area that has shifted from “yellow” designation to “orange” as of 11/23, which requires hospitals to suspend visitation.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and support, and ask that you check our policies before your visit.

Physician Offices or Other Outpatient Areas

(Updated November 25, 2020)

Most outpatient offices will continue to accommodate up to one support person IF assistance is needed. Note that due to COVID’s impact on immunocompromised patients, Wilmot Cancer Center is currently not allowing any visitors or support persons (with very limited exceptions). Please check in with your physician office to learn of exact policy before your appointment.
