Requirements
- One-Year AEGD Program: This GME residency program is designed for dentists who obtained their dental degree from a dental school in either the United States or Canada that is accredited by the American Dental Association’s (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Residents in this program may choose to enroll in an optional second year of training.
- Two-Year AEGD Program: This tuition-based postdoctoral dental training program is designed for dentists who either obtained their dental degree outside the United States and Canada, or from a dental school that is not accredited by the American Dental Association's (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).

Certification
Certificates of completion are given by University of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health at the completion of the program. These are earned by the resident upon satisfactory clinical performance and attendance and participation at lectures and seminars.
Those enrolled in the Three-Year AEGD programs qualify to earn both a Master of Science in Dental Sciences and a Two-Year AEGD certificate within three years.
