Dental Management Course
A series of lectures, presentations and grand rounds held every other week. For general practice dentists, dental specialists and hygienists. 2 CDE credits will be recognized per evening.
Dates: September 20, 2012 – July 11, 2013
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. (short break included)
Location: Room 1.0705, near lobby of Strong Memorial Hospital (Mapquest directions)
Park in garage, enter hospital at lobby level, head toward Wilmot Cancer Center, Meditation Room is on left.
Educational Objectives
Topics covered include dental management of patients with medically complex backgrounds (syncope, asthma, seizures, diabetes, bleeding disorders, hematology diseases, oncologic diseases, bisphosphonate treatment), pregnancy – do's and don’ts in dental management, microbiology of oral and maxillofacial infections, and an update on antibiotics, fundamentals of implants, pearls and pitfalls in dento-alveolar surgery.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the presentation, participants will be able to:

Discuss the effects of medical background on the dental management.

Modify dental treatment plan according to the medical background of the patient.

Identify the do's and don’ts for oral surgery in medically complex patients.
