Community Activities

Peer Support

  • Rochester LGBTQ+ Together
    A community support and social group for members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and allies in Rochester and Monroe County, New York.  This grassroots organization formed in 2020 and has used social medial to support its’ growth.  The work this group does includes expansive community programing including Roc Pride events.  
  • NAMI Rochester NY
    The LGBTQ+ Support Group is a safe and confidential space for queer-identifying/questioning individuals who are experiencing mental health struggles.

    Research shows that the biggest protective factors for LGBTQ+ people is social support and building relationships with others in the community. These factors have proven to increase resilience and reduce feelings of isolation and invisibility. The intended purpose of this group is to create a safe and supportive space for folks in the LGBTQ+ community to come together and talk about recovery, while making connections with others.

    The Rochester Rainbow Union uplifts and supports all members of the greater Rochester rainbow community through inclusive and equitable outreach, education, and collaboration. The Rochester Rainbow Union house the largest LGBTQIA+ library of its kind in New York State, and one of the largest in the country, with over 10,000 items.
