Fellow Life

Quality of life is very important to us! Our fellows have significant input into their schedules so that personal and family priorities are respected while still permitting trainees to participate fully in all that our program has to offer. In addition to our Program Evaluation Committee sessions, program leaders meet with the fellows every other month to maintain an open dialogue about any concerns.

But enough about work… We have fun together too! Our annual professional social events include…

  • Welcome lunch with program directors and fellows
  • Department of Medicine holiday party at the Country Club of Rochester
  • Dinner at the Society of Critical Care Medicine Critical Care Congress
  • Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine spring fling at Arbor at the Port
  • Graduation lunch with faculty, advanced practice providers, nurses, and administrators
  • Graduation dinner with faculty and fellows at Next Door by Wegman's

Our fellows also enjoy socializing together in their free time, with trainees from different programs often becoming good friends.

URMC has a nice fusion between the pulmonary/critical care and critical care programs. The fellows get along very well! The program directors from both programs are excellent leaders who are actively making a lot of positive changes to the program and listening to fellow feedback.

My co-fellows are amazing and very supportive, and the faculty has been great! Our leadership has many innovative ideas and has been proactive in seeking out and implementing fellow suggestions.”
