Welcome from the Program Director
Welcome to our program!
The Endocrinology Fellowship Program at the University of Rochester is an ACGME-accredited 2-year training program with an optional 3rd-year research track. Our program consists of two equally important arms: a strong, broad-based clinical education in general endocrinology and its subdisciplines, and an in-depth research experience (whether clinical or fundamental). Our program's goal is to train the next generation of academic endocrine clinicians, educators, and scientists.
The University of Rochester Medical Center is a world-class tertiary referral center that sees the entire spectrum of endocrine disorders; we are privileged to care for a unique population of patients that are diverse in pathology, age, race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, education, etc. Our enthusiastic and productive faculty maintain "niche" areas of interest and expertise within endocrinology and are devoted in offering trainees exceptional mentorship and training in clinical medicine and research methods.
Through our inpatient consult service, general and sub-specialty outpatient clinics, well-organized curriculum, engaging conferences, and friendly/collegial environment, we strive to help you build lifelong skills to become an exceptional endocrinologist ready for any career path, whether in academia or private clinical practice. I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our curriculum, fellows, faculty, and research.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about our program, institution, and/or region. Having been an undergraduate student, laboratory technician, medical student, resident, chief resident, and faculty at the University of Rochester, I'm eager to share why Rochester is such a special place to live, train, build a career, and even to raise a family.
With sincere regard,
Benjamin (Ben) Gigliotti, M.D., F.A.C.E.
