About the Program

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Rochester operates within the Wilmot Cancer Institute, an NCI-designated Cancer Center. The Division comprises six Gynecologic Oncologists, two Medical Oncologists, and eight Advanced Practice Providers who contribute to both inpatient and outpatient care. Additionally, the team includes eight oncology nurses, a dedicated nurse navigator, and a social worker, all of whom support comprehensive outpatient clinical services.

Our division is a national leader in clinical research through NCTN, NRG, GOG partners and industry partners, providing phase 1–3 clinical trials. The team includes three clinical trial coordinators, four data managers and a clinical trials nurse. The phase 2-3 clinical trial program is led by Dr. Richard Moore and Dr. Rachael Turner leads the Phase 1 clinical trial program, which is unique to our region.

The Gynecologic Oncology fellowship is a three-year program with one year dedicated to basic science research and two years to clinical training. During the research year, fellows work with four PhD researchers and a laboratory technician. Clinical training is guided by our division faculty and specialists from departments such as Surgical Pathology, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Cancer Genetics, Radiology, Palliative Care, Internal Medicine, Colorectal Surgery, Urology, Critical Care, and Interventional Radiology.
