Alstom, a global leader in railroad car manufacturing, opened a new plant facility in Hornell in June 2025. Temporary workers and their families coming from Europe support several local apartment complexes and single-family homes for rent, as well as retail markets. Furnished and unfurnished housing are both available. Many additional housing options are also available in Geneseo, NY.
The travel time to the city of Rochester on the interstate is only an hour from Dansville, making urban recreation options also easily available.
