Program Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• Current matriculated college sophomore or junior attending a U.S. institution of higher education
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien, undocumented student with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA), or current F1 visa holder at a U.S. college or university
• Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0
• Demonstrates exceptional promise for success at URochester as evidenced by academic and research background and aspirations
• Demonstrates strength of character as evidenced by faculty recommendation letters and personal statement
• Able to commit to a 9-week summer residential research program without interruption

Applicants will also be asked to address:

• How their educational and personal experiences and background may enrich research at the School of Medicine and Dentistry
• How their sustained commitment to academic, professional, or civic engagement through their work experience, volunteerism, or leadership of student or community organizations will contribute to the quality of the intellectual environment of the university
