Simulation programs at the University of Rochester Medical Center cross specialties, disciplines, and level of training. Everyone, from faculty and health care professionals with many years of experience to students in the early stages of their education have an opportunity to work individually or in small groups to practice their clinical, technical and teamwork skills.
The medical center supports several innovative in vivo (bedside) training programs giving physicians, nurses and other hospital staff the ability to care for simulated patients in the clinical setting. The Medical Center also houses several state-of-the-art simulation training suites, designed to approximate reality such that learners can participate in a virtual clinical encounter while concentrating their full attention on the training session.
