Thank you for your interest in the University of Rochester Department of Imaging Sciences Breast Imaging Fellowship. Our one-year fellowship offers comprehensive, high-volume training across the full spectrum of breast imaging in a supportive and collaborative academic environment. With experience across both hospital and outpatient settings, fellows work alongside dedicated breast imaging faculty while developing the clinical expertise, procedural skills, and confidence needed for a successful career in breast imaging. 

Fellows also participate in a variety of educational conferences, including the weekly Multidisciplinary Breast Tumor Conference at the Wilmot Cancer Institute Pluta Cancer Center and have multiple opportunities to engage in research and pursue individual academic interests.

We will be participating in the fellowship match. Prospective fellowship candidates should register with the Radiology Match, which is sponsored by the Society of Breast Imaging, and managed by the National Resident Matching Program.

Fellows are integrated into the interdisciplinary team of breast health that practices evidence-based patient care and interaction. Being a valued team member will foster learning of skills and management that will be vital for independent work in the future.
Fellows are supported by a fellowship director that is easily approachable and eager to advocate on behalf of their learning. The faculty team that is committed to engaging and teaching through daily clinical work and, according to the fellows needs and interests, research time and elective time can be coordinated.
Fellows will be prepared for independent practice of breast procedures, screening, and diagnostic imaging through gradual autonomy along the course of fellowship training.

Application & Selection Process

We welcome enthusiastic applicants to our Breast Imaging Fellowship.  Applications will be accepted through FellowshipCAS, and our program will participate in the NRMP Fellowship Match.

  • Application review begins: October 1, 2026
  • Application deadline: December 1, 2026
  • Virtual interview period beings: January 11, 2027
  • NRMP Match registration opens: February 10, 2027
