Culture and Social Connection among Hispanics / Conexión Cultural y Social entre Personas Hispanas

The Culture and Social Connection study is an observational study funded by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities. The purpose of this study is to examine the proximal impact of cultural-social engagement on social disconnection, as mechanisms by which culture may improve well-being for Hispanics in middle to later life. This study is conducted remotely and lasts 3 months. You would complete a baseline interview (phone/zoom). Then a survey is sent to your phone 3 times/day for 14 days at baseline and again at 3 months. You may also be invited to do another interview at 3 months. Study procedures are available in English or Spanish.

El estudio Conexión Cultural y Social es un estudio observacional financiado por el National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities. El propósito de este estudio es examinar el impacto inmediato de la participación cultural-social en la desconexión social, como mecanismos a través de los cuales la cultura puede mejorar el bienestar de las personas hispanas en la segunda mitad de la vida.

Este estudio se realiza de manera remota y dura 3 meses. Se le pedirá completar una entrevista inicial (por teléfono o Zoom). Luego, recibirá encuestas en su teléfono 3 veces al día durante 14 días al inicio y nuevamente a los 3 meses. También es posible que se le invite a participar en otra entrevista a los 3 meses.
