Wireless Networks

Wireless networking is available throughout Miner Library. Here is information about the networks available:

  • UR_MCguest: an open network for all patients, visitors, and vendors. From the Guest network, users will be able to access the internet. No login is necessary to connect to this network.
  • UR_MCwireless: a secure network for all employees and contractors utilizing URMC-SH supported devices. You will be required to log in with your URMC Active Directory credentials (the same as your URMC email). On this network, you will be able to access network resources and applications, and the intranet.
  • UR_MCwireless5: a secure network for all employees and contractors utilizing URMC-SH supported devices. It grants the same access to resources as UR_MCwireless. You will be required to log in with your URMC Active Directory credentials (the same as your URMC email). This network has better bandwidth than UR_MCwireless and generally will be faster, but smaller devices with weaker antennas might work better on UR_MCwireless as it has better range.

For more information or to get help connecting to the wireless network, please contact the Computing Center Help Desk at (585) 275-6865, or via email, or ask the Computing Center Help Desk or Answer Desk assistant.
