Mission
The History of Medicine Section of Edward G. Miner Library seeks to collect, preserve, and provide access to rare books, manuscripts, and archival collections in support of teaching and research in the fields of medical, dental and nursing history, and to document the history of the University of Rochester Health Sciences Campus since 1925.

Access Policy
Anyone is welcome to see the History of Medicine’s materials. Researchers may use our materials in the History of Medicine Reading Room by appointment Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Due to the old, scarce, and often fragile nature of the materials, visitors must handle items with appropriate care and respect any stated restrictions.
