Saward Archive (1977-1995)

Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency 

This collection of records from the files of the Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency (FLHSA) is the second such set of records transferred to the Edward G. Miner Library. The first group of materials was processed in the late 1980s, and contains documents generated by the FLHSA between 1976 and 1980. It is contained in sixteen document boxes.

This second and much larger group of records was transferred to the Miner Library between 1995 and 2000. The records contained in this collection reflect health planning activities in the Genesee region conducted from the late 1970s through the mid-1990s, and include extensive records generated by the FLHSA, the Rochester Area Hospital Corporation (RAHC), and other agencies. A series of records generated by the Genesee Regional Health Planning Council (GRHPC) that were received with these materials was separated from this collection, and added to GRHPC materials previously added to the Saward Archive.

This second series of FLHSA records was processed by Marilyn Wadsworth, librarian at the FLHSA, and was completed in August 2000. The collection consists of forty-nine record containers occupying 69 linear feet (approximately 64.5 cubic feet).
