Noyes Health’s Mary Saunders Beiermann Emergency Department Project Receives a $75,000 Grant from the Noyes Jr. Foundation of Indianapolis
The Indianapolis based, Nicholas H. Noyes Jr. Memorial Foundation, Inc. has just informed Noyes Health that the Mary Saunders Beiermann Emergency Department Project is the recipient of a $75,000 grant. This grant will help us continue to grow, provide our community with quality healthcare and move our expansion project forward.
Noyes Hospital is the only Emergency Department in Livingston County and treats over 14,000 patients annually. The existing space was built in 1972 and is a total of 3,000 square feet. The space needs for an Emergency Department has changes dramatically since the ED was built. Privacy, comfort and adequate work space are now imperative.
The goal of this project is to replace the existing outdated, undersized Emergency Department through new construction to include eight private treatment rooms large enough for family members and medical team, support space for hospital and EMS staff for a total of 10,000 square feet. An urgent care service which already exists in the Reilly Building and an observation unit which will occupy the existing ED space will provide a triple level of service to meet patients’ needs.
Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Hospital was named for Nicholas H. Noyes in 1972 due to a generous contribution. Mr. Noyes grew up in Dansville and spent most of his adult life in Indianapolis where he worked for the Eli Lily Company. In 1951, Mr. Noyes and his wife established a charitable foundation in Indianapolis, the Noyes Jr. Memorial Foundation, Inc., in memory of their son, Nicholas Noyes Jr., who died tragically in 1939 at the age of 28.
The Noyes Family has never forgotten its connection to Dansville, New York or its ties to the hospital. Over the years Noyes Health has continued to benefit from donations and grants from the Noyes Jr. Foundation.
Noyes Health will do its best to keep this family history and connection alive and is truly grateful for the continued support received from the Nicholas H. Noyes Jr. Memorial Foundation, Inc. and the Noyes family.
