Dansville Central School EnCompass Students Donate to Noyes Health

Tuesday, February 24, 2015

Tammy West, Noyes Health V.P. of Patient Care and Cynthia Oswald, Noyes Health Foundation Director were on hand at DCS High School last week to accept a donation from the DCS EnCompass students. The students held a winter carnival fundraiser in December with proceeds from the different games and activities going to selected nonprofits in the community.
The “Noyes Health” game was a ring toss game; the students had saved water bottles, decorated them to look like Santa, snowmen, and other holiday characters, and made pipe cleaner rings to toss. Primary school students and their parents as well as children from the Discovery Program attended the winter carnival and took part in the fun. The students also did face painting, which was so popular that the teachers had to join in with painting faces due to the long line!! “It was very exciting to watch our students succeed at something they created and carried through”, said EnCompass teacher, Julie Guillaume.
The Hospital will use the funds donated to purchase coloring books and crayons for young patients visiting the Mary Saunders Beiermann Emergency Department. “Dansville Central School has a history of supporting of Noyes Health and we appreciate all the time and effort that goes into student fundraising projects like the EnCompass winter carnival”, said Cynthia Oswald.
