Previous Training Program:

Baylor University Medical Center Dallas for AP/CP Residency and for a Hematopathology fellowship (before that: medical school at Wayne State University)

Why did you select URMC for your fellowship training?

URMC created a unique fellowship that trains pathologists to be laboratory directors via on-site training at multiple laboratories of various sizes. Additionally, the fellowship encompasses a Masters of Medical Management component through the Simon School of Business. After watching medical directors expertly navigate the fast-paced, expensive, evolving environment of a laboratory during a pandemic, it became clear that this innovative fellowship would provide invaluable training.

What is your favorite thing(s) about Rochester?

I just moved to Rochester, and I don’t have a ton of experience with the city yet. However, I love how y’all harness every ounce of the summer months. Almost every weekend there is a well-publicized, well-attended festival with a unique theme.

What is the best selling point of your program?

This program provides the funding for the Master’s degree component at The Simon School of Business. Additionally, the program director supports the fellow’s needs regarding work/school balance. As the inaugural candidate, I’m able to tailor the program toward my specific interests, while helping to develop the program for future fellows.
