Surgical Pathology Fellowship
The Surgical Pathology Fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center is a one-year program that provides comprehensive training across the subspecialty areas of Surgical Pathology. Fellows will receive the specific designation of Instructor; and gain broad exposure through rotations tailored to their interests and career goals, which are determined prior to the start of the fellowship.
The program is designed to prepare fellows for independent practice by the end of the year. Training includes active participation in all aspects of surgical pathology service, including previewing cases, reviewing specimens with attending pathologists, and engaging in multidisciplinary conferences. Fellows also have opportunities to teach residents and medical students and to participate in clinical and/or translational research projects aligned with their interests.
Rotations may include subspecialties such as gastrointestinal and liver, breast, gynecologic, bone and soft tissue, pediatric and obstetric, thoracic, head and neck, genitourinary, cardiac, dermatopathology, and neuropathology, among others, depending on individual goals and program structure.
Our Surgical Pathology program follows the unified timeline. Applications are currently being accepted and are reviewed on a rolling basis.
