Vamsi Gullapalli, MD, PhD, provides expert medical and surgical care to patients
suffering from retinal disease. As part of the Flaum Eye Institute retina team, he is
responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of complex conditions. His research interests include stem cell and retinal transplantation in the treatment of degenerative retinal disease.

Dr. Gullapalli received his medical training at Bangalore Medical College in Bangalore
India. He completed two post-doctoral fellowships in the United States: the first at the
University of Rochester, and the second at the University of Southern California. He then
traveled to Rutgers University where he earned his doctorate in neuroscience followed
by an ophthalmology residency. After residency, he completed a two-year retina-vitreuos fellowship at the University of Rochester Flaum Eye Institute.

Dr. Gullapalli routinely treats age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, eye trauma, inflammatory ocular disease, inherited retinal degenerations, retinopathy of prematurity and other conditions, providing medical and surgical therapy.
