Jennifer L. Ellis, M.D. joined the University of Rochester Medical Center in 2011 as an assistant professor of surgery in the division of vascular surgery. She serves as the medical director of the Vein Care Center which attained IAC accreditation in 2017 under her leadership

Dr. Ellis earned her Bachelor of Science and Medical Degrees at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she attended the combined pre-medical/medical program, Inteflex. She completed her general surgery training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and her vascular surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Ellis is a member of numerous professional societies and is active in clinical research. Her areas of interest include both open and endovascular treatment of aortic, cerebrovascular and peripheral vascular disease as well as complex venous conditions.

Dr. Ellis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Vascular Surgery. She is also certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).

I had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Ellis for venous concerns on at least two prior occasions approximately fifteen years ago. I am very happy to have the privilege of being in her care again as I find her to be, IMO, a world class surgeon with a very knowledgable, friendly, sincere, and approachable manner. I had ZERO complications from previous procedures she performed, and I am therefore very relieved to be in her care again. Of note to me is that Dr. Ellis, in spite of decades of very challenging and never ending schooling, training, testing, and medical service to thousands, has managed to keep a very happy and quick-to-laugh-at-my-(very lame)"Dad" jokes personality. That personality in itself, never mind her many other qualities, is a very real gift of healing to old fogies like me traveling deeper into the inevitability of increasing entropy.

Dr. Ellis had me wait to see if she could fit me in the same day for the ultrasound and got me in for that in only 30 minutes so I did not have to return for another appointment on another day. I live 1 1/2 hours away from Rochester. She got me scheduled for surgery as soon as possible too for a vein issue.
