About Me
Professional Background
Dr. Miedlich's clinical interests are in general endocrinology, including diabetes, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and pituitary diseases as well as hormone therapy for transgender patients. She is particularly passionate about taking care of patients with obesity, metabolic syndrome and diabetes. She strives to address both physical and mental health concerns in a patient-centered, all-inclusive fashion. In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Miedlich has a solid background in basic science related to GPCR and steroid receptor signaling with her research published in a number of peer-reviewed journals such as JBC and Endocrinology.
She enjoys teaching students, residents, fellows, colleagues and patients likewise. Her research, in collaboration with URMC psychiatrists and cardiologists, is focused on understanding and tackling the alarming rates of obesity and diabetes in patients with mental health problems, a population that is not only at a high risk of cardiometabolic diseases but also often under-served.
