I am rating the physician as fair because he did not take enough of time with me during the visit for a detailed examination (visit only last for 10 minutes). The were other areas on my back that are causing my pain and I forgot to mention it to the doctor due to being rushed. Therefore, the doctor requested that I see his physician assistant for follow up visit, however, I declined, because I would like to build a relationship first with the doctor. During my upcoming visits with the doctor, I will request that has visit time with me is for at least twenty minutes and I will have written prior to my appointment a list of concerns to discuss with the doctor. I read patients reviews about the doctor before my visit and most of the patients stated that the doctor did not spend enough of time with them during their visits. I recommend that he corrects this problem.

Dr LaPlante is my hero. He fit me in on my first visit and his staff worked hard to help me get appiontments to help me with the pain of my condition. Dr LaPlante knew immediatly what needed to be done and took care of it with 2 procedures, both of which continue to relive me of my pain. I am forever grateful. Doctor was frustrated with treatments I've had that haven't worked, but he did ask me where the pain was and said we could try this area. He suggested pain medication, but I have a great deal of problems with medicine side effects. I need a doctor that is " a fighter" and will keep options open.

Overall good job. I would have liked more information about next steps and possible treatment options based on his experience. He basically ordered an MRI (which I couldn't get for 2 weeks) and said "we'll see after that". I recognize that the MRI is needed before next steps are determined, but based on my situation and his knowledge I thought he could have been more specific on the likelihood of specific next steps. He also did not make any arrangements to check-in after prescribing two RX's to see if they were helping, or let me know if there was anything else I could do in the interim. I asked for the post exam summary to be printed out and it showed various exercises I could do but he didn't mention them during the visit so I wasn't sure if they applied to me. Now I'm just waiting in pain for the MRI, then have to wait another week for my follow up appointment.
