Areas of Expertise
• Pediatric general and thoracic surgery
• Pediatric tumors and oncology
• Pediatric surgical critical care
• Pediatric minimally invasive surgery
I specialize in treating pediatric surgical patients with diseases including congenital abnormalities such as esophageal atresia, intestinal atresia, diaphragmatic hernias, cystic abnormalities of the lungs, Hirschsprung disease, anorectal malformations, gastroschisis and omphalocele. I have special interest in short bowel syndrome, biliary atresia, and pediatric tumors such as neuroblastoma, Wilms tumor, and hepatoblastoma. In addition, I care for children with more common surgical problems including hernias, appendicitis, intussusception, pyloric stenosis, and inflammatory bowel disease.
It is my belief that the optimal care of the pediatric surgical patient requires thinking about the entire child including physical, mental and emotional well-being. The best care involves the family and requires input from many care partners including the patient’s primary care physician, subspecialists, nursing, therapists and social workers, all of whom have the best interests of the child at heart. I promise to listen, to be collaborative and to be accommodating in accomplishing our common goal to make a child better.
