Dr. Chris Nelson is a native of Syracuse, NY, and obtained his undergraduate degree in ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Rochester. During his time as an undergraduate, he developed a passion for the medical field, so following graduation he worked as a scribe at Rochester General Hospital. He received his M.D. at SUNY Upstate, and subsequently completed residency in internal medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. After residency, he joined the faculty at URMC, where he splits time within the hospital medicine division - as a hospitalist - and the ED observation unit. He is excited to continue serving the Rochester community and is committed to delivering excellent patient care.
