Dr. El-Hassan completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester (2010). He then earned a master's in science degree in Medical Physiology with a concentration in Anatomy from Case Western Reserve University (2013). He returned to his hometown of Syracuse, NY to complete his Medical Degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2017 before returning to University of Rochester to complete his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2021. He subsequently completed a North American Spine Society fellowship in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine here at the University of Rochester. His clinical interests include interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine. He has additional interests in teaching, clinical research, device development, and improving patient education/resources.

Dr. El-Hassan was wonderful! We talked about the history of all the neck problems I've had including the most recent issue. He looked up the notes from years ago to get a better idea of what was wrong. He then reviewed my recent MRI results with me, showing me where my pain is coming from. He discussed options for treating the issue and we agreed on the path forward. I'm really glad I've met Dr. El-Hassan. I feel he will take really good care of my neck issue moving forward.
