Dr. Hipp specializes in the interventional treatment of complex pain conditions affecting the spine and joints, including neck and back pain, arthritis, spinal stenosis, sciatica, and herniated discs. He also treats a range of nerve-related conditions such as peripheral neuropathy, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), post-surgical pain, and headache.

He offers a wide range of treatments, from targeted injections and nerve blocks to advanced therapies such as radiofrequency ablation, peripheral nerve and spinal cord stimulation, and minimally invasive spine procedures. Taking a patient-centered approach, Dr. Hipp collaborates with each patient to explore treatment options with the goal of treating the whole person, not just the pain.

Dr. Hipp’s training took him from the University of Michigan — where he earned his undergraduate degree, Master of Public Health (MPH), and Medical Doctorate (MD) — to the University of Rochester Medical Center where he completed his residency in Anesthesiology and fellowship in Pain Medicine. He has remained in Rochester ever since, choosing to join the department in a region that has become home.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys hiking, traveling, photography, and reading — and can still be found cheering on the Michigan Wolverines on fall Saturdays.
