Hiral Patel, OD, is a Senior Instructor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the Flaum Eye Institute and a member of the optometry team. She brings broad-based clinical experience in ocular disease and primary care optometry, along with a strong interest in research and teaching.

Dr. Patel earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, followed by a master’s in biomedical sciences and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Midwestern University in suburban Chicago. She completed a residency in ocular disease at the Flaum Eye Institute, where she now serves on the faculty.

Her training spanned private practices, Veterans Affairs clinics, and academic institutions, giving her experience across a range of clinical environments. She provides primary eye care for patients aged five and older, offering services that include:

Diabetic eye disease screening
Comprehensive eye exams
Spectacle and contact lens prescriptions
Medical management of glaucoma Cataract co-management
