Dr. Alexander Ostapenko is a board-certified general surgeon with advanced fellowship training in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University at Buffalo, completed his surgical residency at Danbury Hospital, and went on to complete a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Connecticut. He further specialized with an additional fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Ostapenko specializes in robotic and endoscopic techniques for the surgical management of obesity, performing a wide range of bariatric procedures. He is deeply committed to patient-centered care and takes a multidisciplinary approach to help individuals achieve sustainable, long-term health goals. Known for his clear communication and compassionate manner, he empowers patients through education and individualized support at every step of their journey.
Raised in Connecticut as the oldest of four brothers, Dr. Ostapenko developed a strong sense of responsibility and an inclination to care for others early in life—qualities that were reinforced through years of competitive swimming and rowing during college.
