Jared Walsh is the Chief of General Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. A primary care internist and medical educator, his clinical and academic work focuses on integrated behavioral health and addiction medicine in primary care, quality improvement education, and the role of emerging technologies in general internal medicine. Dr. Walsh completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Rochester, where he also served as Chief Resident before joining the faculty in the General Medicine Division. While on faculty, Dr. Walsh was selected as the Marshall Lichtman Dean’s Teaching Fellow. After four years, Dr Walsh transitioned to serve on the faculty at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School as Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency, Director of the Quality Improvement Program, Director of Integrated Behavioral Health and Addiction Medicine in Primary Care, and Director of the Academic Internal Medicine Practice. He returned to the University of Rochester in 2026. His clinical practice spans general primary care and integrated behavioral health and addiction medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and has received multiple teaching honors.
