Kathleen (Katie) Vaughan, MD is a non-invasive cardiologist. She graduated from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and subspecialty training in Cardiovascular Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, MA. During her training at BIDMC, she completed a residency and fellowship clinician educator track to further develop medical education skills for all levels of trainees. She spent an additional year of Internal Medicine training to serve as a BIDMC Chief Resident at the West Roxbury Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Boston, MA. Dr. Vaughan also served as the Chief Fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship at BIDMC.

Dr. Vaughan’s clinical expertise includes consultative general cardiology as well as specializing in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. Her academic interests include medical education for all trainee levels, curriculum development, and trainee mentorship. As Chief Resident and Fellow, she developed several curriculum initiatives to improve cardiovascular disease education amongst house staff.

Dr. Vaughan joins University of Rochester Medicine academic faculty as an Assistant Professor of Medicine.
