Ms Gibson has worked for over 20 years in the Neuromuscular Disease Center providing care to patients with Muscular Dystrophy and neuropathy. She has been part of the research team studying Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Charcot Marie Tooth Disease, Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, and Inclusion Body Myositis.

She received her BNS from D'Youville College and her MSN from the University of Rochester School of Nursing.

MS Gibson is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State, The American Academy of Neuroscience Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau, where she recently completed term as the President of the local chapter. She is a Clinical Associate at the University of Rochester, School of Nursing. She has lectured on various topic in neuromuscular disorders and precepted students in her clinic.
