Dr. Spencer Z. Rosero is Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He currently serves as Interim Chief of Cardiology . Until recently, he served as the Director of the Clinical Research Center at the Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI). and previously served as Clinical Director of the Center for Medical Technology and Innovation at the University of Rochester, an M.S. degree program in Biomedical Engineering through the Department of Biomedical Engineering providing students with specialized training in medical device design. He obtained his medical degree at the State University of New York Health Sciences Center Brooklyn and holds an M.S. degree in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester. Dr. Rosero completed his internal medicine, cardiology and electrophysiology fellowship training including the completion of the ABIM Clinical Investigator Pathway.

Dr. Rosero's research interests focuses on better understanding hereditary arrhythmias such as Long QT syndrome and on futuristic technologies, specifically multi-modal implantable and wearable sensors, that further the personalization of medicine. Dr. Rosero's interests include the translation of medical device-machine acquired data into clinically relevant biomarkers, with a focus on precision medicine. He has several issued and pending patents in his field and is currently developing an implantable biosensor that uses living cells embedded within the chip to provide real-time in-vivo monitoring of biological processes.

At URMC, we believe that patients should be empowered to make the right decisions regarding their personal healthcare. To do so, transparency is critical. URMC partners with Press Ganey, to survey our patients about all aspects of their care experience. We are now putting this pertinent information at your fingertips by displaying star ratings for our providers along with anonymous patient comments on our website. This will help you make better-informed choices about how and with whom you seek care. Click here to learn more about the surveys used to generate this vital information.
