Diane S. Morse, MD, is a researcher, medical educator, clinical internal medicine physician, community advocate, and Associate Professor at the University of Rochester School of Medicine Departments of Psychiatry and Medicine. She is the Associate Director of the Office of Health Equity Research at ...
Diane S. Morse, MD, is a researcher, medical educator, clinical internal medicine physician, community advocate, and Associate Professor at the University of Rochester School of Medicine Departments of Psychiatry and Medicine. She is the Associate Director of the Office of Health Equity Research at the University of Rochester Center for Community Health. She investigates the implementation of trauma-specific motivational, social media, and peer community health worker strategies to increase needed health services with women and men with substance disorders, involved in the criminal legal system, and at risk of HIV, including those on probation, in drug treatment court, reentering from incarceration and in rural communities. She focuses on Community Based Participatory Research with organizations including Jordan Health Center, EE Pathways, and the Monroe County Jail. At the University of Rochester School of Medicine her innovative educational initiatives with medical students include: a Health and Incarceration Pathway, a free URWell Clinic at the Reentry Association of Western New York, and health literacy workshops at the Monroe County Jail. She is instrumental in providing intimate partner violence services and education across the University of Rochester Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing. Her funding includes the National Institutes of Health, Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration, Greater Rochester Health Foundation, and Health and Human Services.
