Orthopaedics & Physical Performance

As a Professor of Orthopaedics, in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Rochester, I specialize in the care of sports-related injuries for athletes and physically active patients of all ages. I enjoy the opportunity to help athletes return to their previous level of activity following injury.

My expertise includes treatment of injuries to the knee, shoulder, elbow, and ankle. I have served as a team physician for all of the Rochester area professional teams and currently serve as Team Physician for the Rochester Amerks, the University of Rochester and Monroe Community College sports teams.

I have authored nearly two dozen medical journal articles on such topics as ACL reconstruction techniques and clavicle and knee ligament injuries. I am certified as an orthopaedic surgeon by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and was among the first orthopaedic surgeons to obtain the ABOS Subspecialty Certification in Sports Medicine. I currently serve the ABOS in several roles including question writing and examining ABOS candidates.
