About Me
He is a Pr...
He is a Professor of Clinical Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Rochester and worked as a primary care physician at the Culver Medical Group, the primary care practice for Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency, for over 20 years. He also served as Medical Director for many years. In 2012, in addition to his primary care duties, he began providing care to persons with Cystic Fibrosis and, in 2015, he became director of the CF program.
Prior to pursuing a career as a physician, Dr. Scofield was a special education teacher for infants and preschool children. His dedication to this field continues with his special interest in persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In 2016, he began to split his time between primary care at Culver Medical Group and the Complex Care Center, a specialized primary care practice for persons with childhood-onset conditions including intellectual and developmental disabilities.
He officially “retired” from Culver Medical Group in July 2023 to work solely at the Complex Care Center where he provides primary care for all his patients and specialized CF care in his continued role of adult CF program director. He is currently serving as the Interim Director of the Division of Transitional Care Medicine for the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics, a division devoted to providing interdisciplinary care to adolescents and adults with childhood-onset conditions.
"Open communication is the key to establishing relationships with my patients" states Dr. Scofield. He believes that good listening skills builds partnerships with his patients to achieve the best results in achieving good health outcomes. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. He is an avid golfer, enjoys all sports, loves music and eating at new restaurants.
