Biography

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Dr. Mattingly completed her undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Notre Dame before moving to upstate NY to attend medical school at the University of Rochester. After finishing her internal medicine residency at URMC, she worked as a member of the hospital medicine division at Strong Memorial for one year before pursuing a critical care fellowship here. Dr. Mattingly has been a member of the critical care faculty treating patients at Strong Memorial and Highland hospitals since she completed her training in 2011.

Professional Background

Dr. Mattingly has a particular interest in the education of residents and fellows. She earned a Master of Science in Health Professions Education and an Advanced Certificate in Online Teaching from the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education in 2017 and 2018, respectively, and is on track to finish a Master of Science in Program Evaluation later this year. She was named Program Director of the Critical Care Fellowship in 2018 following six years in the Associate Program Director role. A member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine since 2009, she has been the local director of that organization’s Fundamentals of Critical Care Support course since 2016 and served as a national committee member from 2017 to 2020. She currently sits on the Society’s Post-graduate and Fellowship Education Committee.
