Professional Background

Celeste Song, MD, MS, was born in Northeastern Louisiana, attended college at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and then medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She then did her residency at the Tufts/Cambridge Health Alliance Family Medicine Residency, where she developed her interests in evidence-based medicine and medical education. After residency, she returned to Rochester, NY, for a Faculty Development Fellowship through the University of Rochester Department of Family Medicine, and a Master's of Science in Health Professions Education through the University’s Warner School of Education. She now practices primary care at Highland Family Medicine, serves as an Associate Residency Director for the University’s Family Medicine Residency, and leads the evidence-based medicine curriculum for the residency. In addition, from 2015-2020 she directed the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry’s Medical Education Pathway, an elective program for medical students interested in training and experience as educators. On a personal level, she enjoys vegetable/flower gardening, cooking, biking, yoga, and spending time with family: husband, son, and miniature dachshund Beowulf.
