Dr. Weis cares for patients at FF Thompson, Strong Memorial, and Highland Hospital. He works to improve regionalization of critical care networks while extending the expertise of the academic medical center into the community through the UR FF Thompson collaboration. He is passionate about improving the quality and safety of patient care while building opportunities for medical education in the community setting. He performs bronchoscopy, thoracentesis / tube thoracostomy, and vascular access for patients with a variety of disorders.

Dr. Weis completed his medical degree at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 2007. He moved to Rochester, NY for Internal Medicine Residency while couples matching with his wife Emily for training, who grew up in the Geneseo, NY area. After completing residency, he served as an Internal Medicine Chief Resident 10'-11' at the University of Rochester.

During Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship training at the University of Rochester he participated in basic science research in interstitial lung disease under Dr. Patricia Sime and R. Matthew Kottmann.

Dr. Weis joined the UR Medicine Pulmonary and Critical Care Faculty summer of 2014.
