Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she was a clinical research coordinator in Pediatric Cardiology, Maternal Fetal Medicine and Electrophysiology at Columbia University and later at SUNY Stony Brook University. After working in clinical research she desired to step aside from the bench and join the bedside by obtaining a degree in nursing at the University of Rochester. She spent several years as a Critical Care Registered Nurse in Neurosurgery, the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and most recently within the COVID Intensive Care Unit. As a Nurse Practitioner, Jacek seeks to provide comprehensive patient and family centered care with compassion for those with Parkinson's disease, Tourette syndrome, Huntington's disease, Restless Leg Syndrome, Tardive Dyskinesia, Hereditary Ataxia, Essential Tremor, Dementia with Lewy Body, Multiple System Atrophy, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, and Corticobasal Degeneration. She recently became involved in the READISCA study; a US-European collaboration where investigators are establishing the world's largest cohorts of premanifest/early SCA1 and SCA3 subjects. She serves as an active board member of the Rochester Ataxia Foundation.
