Dr. Patrick Rooney completed his residency training in neurology at the University of Rochester and went on to complete additional specialty training in both clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy. In 2023, he joined the Neurology Department as faculty in the Epilepsy Division. Dr. Rooney primarily treats patients with epilepsy, but also sees patients in the general neurology clinic as a teaching faculty member for neurology resident trainees. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Rooney interprets both electroencephalogram (EEG) studies and intraoperative monitoring tests of brain and nerve health to improve patient safety and outcomes during neurological surgeries.

Dr. Rooney's mission is to provide excellent patient care while continuing to advance the education of medical students, residents, and fellows in neurology, epilepsy, and clinical neurophysiology.
