Dr Lampkin is board certified in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at Indiana University. He then completed an additional year of subspecialty training in hospice and palliative medicine through Indiana University. He initially joined the hospice and palliative medicine faculty at Wake Forest University before deciding to pursue subspecialty training in pulmonary and critical care medicine. At Wake Forest, he completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine where he also served as chief fellow.

As a pulmonary and critical care physician, Dr Lampkin spends time both in our medical ICU and our pulmonary clinic at Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr Lampkin’s clinic focuses on lung nodules and masses as well as both malignant and benign pleural disease. He additionally specializes in interventional pulmonary procedures such as robotic bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, tumor debulking, thoracentesis, and indwelling pleural catheter placement. Dr Lampkin also serves as the co-director of our Zephyr endobronchial valve program to treat patients with advanced COPD.
