Biography

I am a board certified foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon. I provide care for patients experiencing foot or ankle pain and discomfort from bunions and hammertoes to ankle arthritis requiring ankle replacement.

My expertise is in treating bunions, hammertoes, flat feet and high arches, fractures as well as arthritis of the foot and ankle. With my advanced training in foot and ankle surgery, I am able to perform fusions as well as ankle replacement surgery.

In my personal time, I enjoy snowboarding, hiking, camping and spending time with my family.

Professional Background

Dr. Holleran received her medical school training at Geisinger Commonwealth School of medicine in Scranton, PA which is where she is from. She then lived in Burlington, VT while attending the University of Vermont for her orthopaedic residency. She then traveled to Rochester and completed a 1 year fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Rochester. She then decided to return to northeastern Pennsylvania to practice closer to home. After 2 years of practice at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, she was offered the opportunity to return to the University of Rochester as a board certified orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon. She took the position due to her love of teaching with the goal of working with residents and fellows. She has happily returned to the university.

Research

I have authored articles appearing in peer-reviewed journals, and collaborated on 20 national and international presentations. My current projects involve outcomes for hindfoot arthritis, hammertoe fixation and high-risk hip fracture.
