Dr Gajjar attended medical school in the city of Ahmedabad in India, where she was born. She topped her district in the medical school entrance exam. She topped her medical school and received college honors for Physiology and Biochemistry. She was accepted to Harvard Medical School for an external rotation during her final year of medical school. She decided to pursue further training in the United States after this experience.

She attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine for her internal medicine residency where she received the "Intern-Of-The-Year" award as well as the Program Scholarship Award on graduation. She completed her cardiology fellowship in Pittsburgh at Allegheny General Hospital where she was Chief Fellow in her last year. She then went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for her Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant training.

Dr Gajjar has always been passionate about cardiology and cardiac pathophysiology. Her greatest meaning in work is through her interactions with her patients.
She is very excited to join the Advanced Heart Failure Department at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Dr Gajjar is interested in using imaging modalities to better understand pathophysiology of advanced cardiac disease.

Dr Gajjar is interested in using imaging modalities to better understand pathophysiology of advanced cardiac disease.

Her other research interests include those around education in the field of cardiology and heart failure- both for patients as well as trainees. Her future goals include doing more work centering around managing quality of life, and dignity of life, in patients with end stage heart failure.

She is interested in hemodynamics of advanced/end stage cardiac disease and advanced heart failure therapies including temporary mechanical support, left ventricular assist devices as well as intra cardiac monitoring devices.
