Pre-operative and Post-Operative Rehab

Our physical therapists work collaboratively with your surgeon to provide rehabilitation services before and after your surgery.

Preoperative services

We offer preoperative services for several diagnoses including hip, knee and shoulder replacement, rotator cuff injuries, liver transplant and cancer related surgeries.  Engaging in PT prior to surgery allows our therapists to instruct patients and caregivers on what to expect following surgery, review adaptive equipment that might be needed (slings, walking devices etc.) and improve mobility and activity tolerances prior to surgery so patient’s “bounce back” easier following the procedure.

Postoperative services

We have experienced therapists specialized in the rehabilitation of patients following a wide range of surgical interventions.  We work hand-in-hand with your surgeon to provide you the appropriate exercise recommendations, activity precautions and mobility training to recover from your procedure.

Common surgical diagnoses include:

  • Total Shoulder and Reverse Total Shoulder Replacements
  • Arthroscopic shoulder procedures such as rotator cuff, biceps, bone spurring, labrum or cartilage injury, or dislocation/instability
  • Total Hip and Knee Replacements
  • Neck and back surgery
  • Achilles tendon repair
  • Quadriceps/Patellar Tendon repair
  • Arthroscopic knee procedures such as meniscus, ACL/PCL/MCL or cartilage injury
  • Traumatic injuries
  • Cancer related surgeries
