Policies, Billing, and Procedures

 
The PEAK Human Performance Clinical Research Core Laboratory is adept in early adoption of novel measurement technologies and provides state-of-the-art assessments for metabolism, body composition, cardiovascular function (including VO2max and anaerobic threshold), pulmonary function, range of motion, strength, balance, and free-living activity/exercise. Examples include but are not limited to: graded exercise stress testing, pulse oximetry, EKG, bioelectrical impedance, balance force plate testing, actigraphy and more.

Policies

All Principal Investigators who wish to work with the PEAK Human Performance Clinical Research Core Laboratory are required to abide by the rules of University of Rochester's Research Subjects Review Board (RSRB). 

  • All forms and training must be completed prior to testing subjects. See procedures section below.
  • A Health Project Coordinator must escort research subjects in the PEAK Human Performance Clinical Research Core Laboratory at all times.

Billing

  • The PEAK Human Performance Clinical Research Core Laboratory invoices the Principal Investigator for PEAK Lab services on a quarterly basis
  • The Principal Investigator completes a cost transfer form to debit their account and credit the PEAK Human Performance Clinical Research Core Laboratory cost center
  • Accounts payable transfers payment to the PEAK Human Performance Clinical Research Core Laboratory cost center

Procedures

Step 1. Schedule a research planning and consult meeting with PEAK Human Performance Clinical Research Core Laboratory staff

Step 2. The PEAK Human Performance Clinical Research Core Laboratory approves research protocol

Step 3. Principal Investigator and/or Health Project Coordinator complete the appropriate training listed below:
 

Step 4. Provide appropriate forms upon completion of training, study protocol, informed consent, RSRB approval, and any amendment approvals

Step 5. Schedule the PEAK Human Performance Clinical Research Core Laboratory safety training appointment with the PEAK Human Performance Clinical Research Core Laboratory staff
