NP Preceptors

This list is not inclusive of credentialing centers.

American Nurses Credentialing Center

120 hours as a preceptor may be applied toward Category 5 of the professional requirement for national certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

American Academy of Nurse Practitioners

Preceptorship Hours (Optional): Up to 25 non-pharmacology CE credits (equal to 125 preceptorship hours) may be converted to and replaced with hours conducted precepting an advanced practice student.

Pediatric Nurse Certification Board

You may apply up to 10 contact hours from Professional Practice Linkages (PPL) activities each year. A minimum of 80 precepting hours completed in the past 24 months prior to the Recert enrollment period may be applied.

PA Preceptors

American Academy of Physician Associates

Per NCCPA, there are no maximums on the number of credits that you can earn for any Category 2 activity including precepting PA students and students from other professions.

Individual preceptors may be awarded AAPA Category 1 CME credits at a rate of 2 AAPA Category 1 CME credits per PA student per 40-hour week, with no limit if the PA program submits an annual application to receive eligibility to award AAPA Category 1 CME (less common).
